Júbilo Iwata lost to Cerezo Osaka on Friday evening resulting in a second successive defeat of the season. Despite some light joy towards end which saw Fabián González score his third of the season making it two goals in two games his side lost the match 2-1.

The game also saw in 74 minutes the Cerezo Osaka player Hirotaka Tameda sent off for a dangerous tackle on defender Daiki Ogawa. The numerical advantage didn’t count for much though as Iwata could not break down the defence.

After the match Iwata midfielder Shota Kaneko that was playing for the first time in ten matches commented the team did not get it right both as a team and individually.

Next up for the squad as they look to escape the relegation battle with them currently sitting in 15th place is FC Tokyo at home.
