Kento Hashimoto the FC Tokyo central midfielder looks set to sign with Russian side FK Rostov later this month. He might have played his last game for his club on the weekend when they defeated current champions Yokohama F. Marionos 3-1.

Kento heading to Russia

The 26-year-old midfielder Kento Hashimoto is set to join FK Rostov in Russia at the end of the month as the transfer news broke on the 9th July. His new club said that full details of the deal will be announced soon, I would assume the delay is COVID 19 related.

It is big news for the player with seven caps with Japan as he said "Playing abroad is something I've dreamt about since childhood. I'll work hard so that news of my success reaches Japan."

He will be a big miss for his club in Tokyo who he scored for on his debut back in June 2015 in a 2-1 win against Matsumoto Yamaga. If Saturday was to be his last game with his club he will then at least have left on a high as his side defeated Yokohama F. Marionos 3-1 with Hashimoto playing the full 90 minutes.

In all, he played 164 matches for FC Tokyo scoring 17 goals and picking up six assists, it looks like he will be around for a while too in Russia as he's signed a four-year deal.
