Taiwan Steel vs Taipower - the game of the round

Tomorrow the second week of the Taiwan Premier League will be played, and the main game is Taiwan Steel vs Taipower. After the CTFA's decision to stream every match, you don't have any excuse for not picking this one.

Taiwan Steel this season's main contenders will score goals galore

Tainan City based Taiwan Steel have really given this seasons Taiwan Premier League a stir after completing the signings of the leagues two top goal-getters, and two of the best players to ever compete in Taiwan.

Fenelus and Benchy will score goals pretty much every week. If you're watching matches expecting to see goals. Taiwan Steel is the team for you.

Even after only one match, the predictions that Taiwan Steel are gonna be in the mix come the end of the season are strong, and after watching the Tatung and Taipower match, people's predictions are going to be correct.

Taiwan Steel is definitely going to rock the boat, and this is genuinely a brilliant thing for Taiwanese football because it is good to see a big sponsor get behind a team in this way. Normally teams have found it difficult to find backing, but it seems this might slowly be changing for the better.

I predict Taiwan Steel to win this one, but it will be one of the tougher opponents they will come up against. Fenelus and Benchy's attacking prowess will prove to be the difference, as Fenelus proved to be the difference for Tatung often last season, and Benchy did similar for Hang Yuen, combined they will provide the same benefit for the Steel boys of Tainan.

Taipower focus on playing good football with Taiwanese players

If your looking for a club that does well, plays decent passing football with Taiwanese players, then look no further than the Kaohsiung boys of Taipower. They showed last week, that their controlled passing approach was good enough to see off last seasons champions Tatung. Albeit, a depleted one due to the loss of a few vital players.

Taipower played some nice football and dominated the second half against Tatung, but what was really good about the approach they took was their persistence while not panicking. This allowed Taipower to score a 93rd-minute winner, with practically the last kick of the game.

The championship certainly looks to be headed south this year to either Tainan or Kaohsiung, if Tatung wants to keep it in Taipei then they will need to buck their ideas up and find a way of stopping a perennial challenger in Taipower, and a new rising force in Taiwan Steel.

My money would be on the Steel boys of Tainan to take home the title, especially if their key men stay fit.
