David Silva heading to the States instead of Japan?

David Silva as made it very clear for a while that he will be heading out of the door of the Etihad when his contract with Manchester City expires at the end of the season. That has led to much speculation on his next adventure with Vissel Kobe looking likely but that now looks not to be happening as he is set to move to the US.

Silva looing for extra gold

David Silva turned 34-years-old on Wednesday and with the player getting closer to the end of his career he is clearly looking for one last big paycheque. Reports in the English and Japan media had suggested that might be in the J League with the Rakuten lads in Kobe but that now looks not to be the case.

As it emerged this week that the decorated Spanish midfielder is heading to Miami, to join David Beckham's new club. Inter Miami the new club owed by David Beckham along with others is set to join the MLS when it resumes in February.

These moves look all set although he will likely not join the side till his contract expires in June meaning he will be part of the new club midway through their debut season.

As this story breaks then it looks to put to bed the tale of another World Cup winner joining the J League.

A move to Japan would have felt a lot more like a move back home for Silva though as you may not realise he is, in fact, part Japanese. This was seen as he said in an interview in 2011 "My mother is Japanese, so there is a little Asian blood in me."
