AFC and Champions League draw


The draw for the AFC Cup and Champions League were made today as we take a look at how it all looks. The big news is that April 25 of North Korea will not be able to try and better their final appearance from last season. 

No North Korea

The AFC Cup draw for the first round of qualifying was made on Monday and we will now look at how the East Asian sides look. The draw was made in Kuala Lumpur with the draw for the qualifying round and Groups made altogether.

All East Asian sides will be in Group I with the three sides in this Group already consisting of CPK (Macau), Tatung FC (Taiwan) and Tai Po (Hong Kong) or Kedah (Malaysia).

To decide that final place we will see two rounds of qualification, this will first be seen with Ulaanbaatar City (Mongolia) taking on Taipower in a two-legged match. The winner of the will face Kitchee (Hong Kong) in another two-legged affair.

Champions League taking shape 

In the Champions League, the draw for the Groups and the qualifiers were also made today with Tai Po taking on Kedah with the loser taking a place in the AFC Cup.

Meanwhile, FC Seoul, Shanghai SIPG and FC Tokyo will play in a playoff match with their opponents to be decided.
