This week the South Koreans made the Quarterfinals of the U17 World Cup in Brazil. That came after some last-ditch defending and the first-half goal from Choi Min-Seo won the match 1-0 against Angola.

Next up Mexico

The future of Korean football looks in good hands as their Under-17 side reached the Quarterfinals of the World Cup after overcoming Angola. They will now face Mexico who defeated Japan 2-0 in the round of 16.

It is a shame we will not see an all Asian match but Mexico is sure to prove a hard test when they meet on Sunday. Japan had started the tournament so positively too with a 3-0 win over Holland.

They will feel slightly hard done by losing to Mexico too as they dominated possession in the match but could not turn that into goals.

The result now means that South Korea will face Mexico at the Estádio Kleber José de Andrade in Cariacica, Brazil. The game will kick off at 8am local time in South Korea and could be a good chance to see some future stars of the Korean game.
