CSL Cup Final first leg done

It was the China FA Cup Final first leg as Shandong Luneng hosted Shanghai Shenhua with the home side running out 1-0 winners. The match also saw the home side pick just two foreign players in the match squad.

Penalties the talk of the game

The FA Cup Final did have controversial moments also as the Serbian referee Mažić had questions of him asked after the match. This came as Shenhua had two calls for penalties but with VAR in operation neither were seen big enough calls to overturn.

Here also comes as the single goal in the match came from the spot when Pellè slotted home on 40 minutes to give his size a slender first-leg lead.

Then with just that individual goal, there is everything to play for when the two sides meet again in Shanghai on the 5th December.

This was, in fact, a close match before both teams playing well in patches and at times it looked like just the one goal could win it. This was a big chance for these players to showcase their talent too as not many of them have been recognised on the international stage yet.

In the second half though the away side did push for that equaliser and almost got it on 60 minutes. This came as the Shandong keeper Wang Dalei was forced into a good save.

Although Pellè, Wu Xinghan and Hao Junmin all came close to scoring for the home side. In stoppage time, the away side had a chance to score but could not convert from a Cao Yunding cross. There was enough there though to suggest the tie can be turned around and it is 100% all to play for.
