Ryotaro Meshino scores for Hearts

Ryotaro Meshino is another of those East Asian stars looking to make a name for himself in Europe. He is doing this in slightly different surroundings than most as he is currently on loan from Manchester City at Scottish side Hearts of Midlothian.

A draw with a big side

Since joining Hearts in the Scottish capital his current side have only won one match albeit against their biggest rivals Hibernian.

Then as the team sit just three points off the bottom of the Scottish Premier League after the weekend's results you would think his mood would be not great.

If you were thinking that you would be wrong as the attacking midfielder with his unmissable blonde hair was on the scoresheet at the weekend. This was seen when his side drew with title-challenging Rangers managed by Steven Gerrard at their home ground Tynecastle Park.

It was a big goal for his club and him as he scored just six minutes into the match from outside the box. It was a goal you love to see from attacking players as he hit it first time pouncing on a mistake in the Rangers defence.

Still fighting at the bottom

Getting what was his second goal for his club will be a big boost for him but his side is still in trouble at the wrong end of the table. For those who do not realise Hearts is one of a few teams in Scotland that always expect to be in the top six.

Although they were relegated as recently as in 2014 both themselves and city rivals Hibernian are still very much expected to get out of the bottom half of the table before too long.

November will prove to be a big month for Hearts as they play in the League Cup Semi-Final when they once again meet Rangers. This could be a chance for Meshino to play in a cup final in Scotland which will, of course, be a great experience for the youngster.
