K3 side make Korean FA Cup final

The Korean FA Cup final fate was decided on Wednesday and this saw K3 side Daejeon Korail make the final. This came after the underdogs overcame K League 1 side Sangju Sangmu on penalties. It means that the final will now take place between Suwon Bluewings and Daejeon Korail in a two-legged match at the beginning of November. 

The excitement in the rain 

Korail drew 2-2 in the 120 minutes before overcoming Sangju too book themselves a historic place in the FA Cup final. The away side came into the match with every chance after picking up a 1-1 draw in the first leg.

It was to proceed down to the wire as it looked it might after the first leg. The nail-biting finish saw Jang Won-Seok score in the 89th minute with a goal that looked set to take his team to the final.

Somehow the home side fought back though and got a goal in the second minute of injury time to take the tie into extra time.

Then with the heavy rain coming down the excitement levels continued and the home side took the lead on 102 minutes only to be pegged back less than five minutes later.

The match then ended with pools of water dotted around the pitch and the teams level. Despite the rain, the sides put on a great display and Korail, in the end, booked a place in the final with a 4-2 win in the penalty shootout.
