On the 15th October, North Korea are due to host their neighbours South Korea in Pyongyang at the Kim Il Sung Stadium. Stories though are emerging in Korean news that this match has not been confirmed and the venue could yet change.
First time since 1990
If the sides are to meet in North Korea it will be for the first time since 1990. In fact, that match in 1990 was the only time they've met in the North and the only time the North has overcome South Korea.
The match was won 2-1 by North Korea in Pyongyang although this game was not classed as a FIFA international. The match next month almost exactly 29 years later could be the first time they meet in an official match in North Korea.
It looked to be all systems go then for this to go ahead but football writer Steve Han reported on Monday that this might not be the case.
With North Korea still stalling their final decision on playing South Korea in World Cup qualifying in Pyongyang, Beijing is emerging as a neutral location to host the game on 15 October.
