Taiwan and Nepal reverse fixtures

Nepal sent a request to Taiwan asking to reverse their World Cup qualifying fixtures because Nepal's ground was damaged in a recent earthquake and the stadium restoration will not be completed in time.

Taiwan agree to fixture change

Taiwan has agreed to reverse the home and away fixtures for their games against Nepal, due to Nepal's national stadium being damaged in an earthquake. The repairs will not be completed before September, 10th which is the date of the fixture. Therefore Nepal asked to play in Taiwan on this date.

Taiwan has agreed to change the dates, because they stated, "We are also in the seismic zone. We fully understand the situation in Nepal and agree to reverse the order of home and away." This is a nice gesture towards Nepal from Taiwan, but we don't believe any team would refuse this kind of request.

Therefore, the fixtures will now be played on:

Taiwan vs Nepal: 10th September, 19:10 kick-off (Taiwan Time), Taipei Stadium
Nepal vs Taiwan, 26th March 2020, Kathmandu

Asian Football Confederation agree to fixture change

As expected, there was no issue from the AFC regarding the fixture change. This is because of the genuine reasons involved. I don't think either the Chinese Taipei Football Association or the All Nepal Football Association expected the AFC to refuse this request.

This will be a rerun of the recent friendly between the two sides that took place in Kaohsiung, with the game ending 1-1.
