Tyias Browning unable to play

In February 2019, Tyias Browning made the move from Everton to Guangzhou Evergrande this was in an attempt to find first-team football and to become a nationalised Chinese footballer. This move as not worked out as expected however with the player just picking up to full 90 minutes in his six months at the club.

Browning is frozen out

It was today announced that Browning has been removed from the Guangzhou Evergrande 1st-team squad due to foreign player quota. As at the moment he still awaiting his nationalisation in China meaning that he nevertheless is a foreign player this season.

This means that currently, the defender is unable to play for his club so is effectively being frozen out again. The defender is still highly rated in China so it will be interesting to what happens with the 25-year-old.

Am sure he will be keen to play football as a player whos appearances for a season has only reached double figures twice. I would imagine with the rules on him being nationalised he will not be able to be loaned out of the league. He could though maybe get a move out on loan to another club in China and with two weeks left of the transfer window this can still happen.
