Arnautovic finally getting his money bags move to Chinese Super League

At the beginning of the week, it was finally announced that Marko Arnautovic would leave West Ham and head to China. It was back in January we reported that the unnamed Chinese club was in for the Austrian. Now just seven months later we can confirm that the unnamed club is, in fact, Shanghai SIPG.

Big move but will it be a good one?

The fee reported for 30-year-old is thought to be in the region of £22 million and this is big money for a player who is getting to the end of his career. Will this work out and if the player will do well I guess only time will tell.

On our podcast, over the weekend we discussed this transfer and talked about the possibilities that this could all go pear shape quickly. A lot will depend on if the player can settle instantly and stop the bad attitude that made West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini lose his patients with him.

There is definitely talent there though and that is what boss VĂtor Pereira will have to find in the player with the club still very much on for their second title in a row. In total, he scored 22 times in 65 matches for West Ham a scoring record that is almost one in three.

If he can match the goals that Wu Lei as left behind having moved to Spain in January then he could be a big hit for the club.
