Korea in World Cup final

The future of the game in Korea looks in great hands as the U20 side made it through to the World Cup final on Tuesday in Poland. A place in the World Cup final was confirmed with a 1-0 win over Ecuador thanks to a 39th-minute goal from Choi Jun.

A great win for Korea

This was to be a match like most of the World Cup for the Koreans as they came off second best in possession. Then just like in other matches, they made sure to use their time on the ball well and make the most of the chances they did get.

As Korea has not dominated any side at this World Cup they have known they needed to keep it tight again on Tuesday and hope to make the most of chances that came their way. Then in front of over 12,000 in Lublin, Poland they won for the fourth time at the tournament by the odd goal.

The result means that they will face Ukraine on Saturday for the chance to become U20 World Champions. The game though will kick off at 1am Korea time on Sunday so Korean football fans will be set for a late night this weekend.

As this will be the first time ever that South Korea men's have played in a FIFA competition final at any level am sure the interest will be high. Let's hope they keep that fast-paced tempo up over the weekend and the best of luck to them as they look for victory.
