Japan prepare for Copa America

Takefusa Kubo is a young Japanese midfielder and could be in line for a call up to the full national side. The 17-year-old looks destined to play for Barcelona and is known as the 'Japanese Messi'. The player even played for Barcelona as a youngster.

Reports in Japan suggest that youngsters in the J League 1 could get a chance to feature for Japan even at the young age of 17-years-old.

Then with Japan preparing for the Copa America, they will play two warm-up matches in June before the tournament starts in Brazil. It is expected Moriyasu will pick a larger group of players for this to run his eye over and Kubo could be one of them.

Japan play at the Under 20 World Cup at the end of the month in Poland with pundits suggesting Kubo was not part of this squad for a reason.

It is thought that J League 1 will cooperate if their players are called up also even with the tournament taking part during the league season. FC Tokyo it is said will allow Kubo to play for the first team if called upon.

The youngster would become the second youngest debut for Japan after Daisuke Ichikawa if the player plays in June. This is bound to get fans excited about the prospect for the player and could see a host of teams in Europe after him if he does well.
