Jay Boothroyd back in training

Jay Boothroyd has been out injured, but today Consaldole Sapporo was given some good news, which was announced via the player's Twitter.

I will be back

Jay Boothroyd announced on Twitter today, that he will be back soon for Sapporo. The reaction from the team's fans shows how much of a miss he has been because today Boothroyd's Twitter was flooded with retweets and tweets from fans saying how much they've missed him or how they cannot wait for him to come back.

Jay has been a massive hit ever since he moved to Japan, from Thailand and is the highest English goalscorer to ever play in the J-League, he's been quoted as saying that he is happy to have outscored Gary Linekar. His target is to win the J-League and qualify for the AFC Champions League with Sapporo, but we think he will end his career disappointed as Sapporo don't look like winning the league anytime soon. Although last season the side was in the fight for an Asian Champions League spot but fell in the final months of the season.

Jay and Jay

Boothroyd has formed a good attacking partnership Chanathip Songkrasin who is known as Messi Jay in Thailand. Boothroyd himself, took the playing name of Jay when he moved to Japan, so Sapporo has an attacking partnership that works well together called Jay and Jay.

Maybe Boothroyd missing has been what is causing Sapporo to have a struggling start to the season, Sapporo finds themselves at 11th spot in the J-League table, having played 7, winning only 3 and losing 4. The last match out they lost 4-0 to early season front runners Nagoya Grampus. The Sapporo fans will be hoping that a return to the partnership of Jay and Jay will see an upturn in the clubs mixed form at the start of the season.
