Hwang In-Beom scores first Vancouver goal

Hwang In-Beom is one of South Korea's leading talents and is highly thought of by the Korean national team management, and Korean football fans. He is seen as one of the players who could take over the role played in the national team by recently retired Ki Sung-yeung and Hwang has just scored his first goal for Vancouver Whitecaps.

First Vancouver goal

Hwang scored his first goal for Vancouver against LA FC, Ali Adnan hits a brilliant shot that comes flying back off the post, and Hwang follows it up well, as any attacking midfielder should then shows great skill and technique to caress the ball into the bottom corner with a half volley.

Hwang has made a good impact since moving to Vancouver on the 30th January 2019 as a young designated player. It seems to us that Hwang is well on his way to becoming a very important player in Vancouver's squad, meaning if he keeps performing as he has been he will likely cement his place in the starting eleven as a key player.

Hwang has 14 caps and 1 goal for South Korea, but with Ki retiring earlier in the year after the Asian Cup, and Hwang touted as the heir to Ki's position in the national side, it is likely that his number of caps will start to increase rapidly.

Hwang made his Vancouver Whitecaps debut against Minnesota United on March 2nd 2019.

The goal was posted on Vancouver Whitecaps Facebook page
