Hong Kong FA approach Ian Holloway to replace Gary White

The Hong Kong managers position has been available since Gary White left to take charge of Tokyo Verdy in J2 (Japanese second division).

Since then news has come out from the South China Morning Post that Ian Holloway could be a front runner to become the new manager of Hong Kong.

A win is a bird and we want a better looking one

News has come out that Ian Holloway could be the man the HKFA (Hong Kong Football Association) are looking at to take on the manager role which has been vacant since Gary White left.

Ian Holloway is a decent manager, and has a good reputation, especially at Championship level in England, but one of his most famous moments will always have me doubled over with laughter any time I watch it on YouTube. The moment I am speaking about came when he was manager of QPR, after a QPR victory he gave one of the best post match interviews you are ever likely to see as long as you live.

I have no clue at all who they played, or what game it was but since then, the interview has went down in football folklore! Holloway goes on to say a win is like a bird, and when you're on a night out, you want to pull the best looking bird you can. However, if you don't pull the best looking one you'll still take her home (click the link posted above to see the interview).

I am not sure Hong Kong fans are ready for such top drawer waffle, but if he does get the Hong Kong gig it will be bloody wonderful to follow him because his pre and post match interviews are pure comedy gold!

Holloway reveals interest in position

Ian Holloway himself revealed that he has been approached by the HKFA on UK TV show, Goals on Sunday. He told presenters of the show, Ben Shepard and Chris Kamara that he has expressed his interest, after a prolonged period of being out the game.

Holloway has never worked as a manager in international football, but we are hoping he gets the job just for the laughs. We suggest you look at this video on YouTube that someone put together with a handful of his funny moments. Click here to see Ian Holloway's best moments with lots of talk about chickens.
