Korea dominated from the start
South Korea needed a quick start against a China side they knew would defend deep and try and break on the counter. Unfortunately for Lippi's men, this is exactly what happened as the team from South Korea had a few chances before claiming an early penalty. This penalty was slotted home by Hwang Ui-jo with a technique Paul Pogba would be proud of.
A bullet header from Kim Min-Jae then sealed the match on 51 minutes. Korea then continued to dominate the match and in truth could have won by more. China had chances in the first half but after the second went in they looked like a team looking to take a narrow defeat.
For China I would not say all hope is not lost, Lippi's men have improved from their pre tournament matches. I would, however, say it will be tough for them to get past the last 16. After tomorrows matches we will however then find out the fate for them, South Korea and China. At this point, you feel we can be a better judge of how they can do.
