Japan head to the UAE

The Asian Cup kicks-off in the UAE on Saturday with Japan's first match coming on Wednesday against Turkmenistan. The teams are then making their way out to the UAE to set up a base for the Asian Cup. 

Japan fly out to the UAE

On Wednesday the Japan national side made their way out to the UAE to complete their preparation ahead of their first match. The side flew out from Narita International Airport just outside Tokyo.

The team look in good spirits with the country undefeated since the World Cup and with some new young talent emerging are playing exciting attacking football. Coach Moriyasu sounded positive too as he said his challenge was to bring the Asian Cup home to Japan. Meanwhile, Yasuhito Endō will join the team slightly later due to illness.
