China wary of South Korea

South Korean players train - Sina Sports
On the 16th January 2019, China will take on South Korea in the final match in Group C at the Asian Cup. By this point, there is every chance that South Korea would have topped the Group with China all ready to pack their bags. It is clear that the Chinese are worried about this game with their Sports media outlet Sina Sports running a piece this week about the danger of Son Heung-Min.

China feel South Korea and Son are to be feared

It looks like since Paulo Bento took over in Korea back in August 2018 he could be building something special. With the side undefeated in his six games in charge, while the boss as used a host of young talent. With players such as Lee Seung-Woo of Hellas Verona looking to get more game time under the Portuguese man.

Away from the young talent, there is a certain 26-year-old by the name of Son Heung-Min and he is causing defenders in the English top flight all sort of problems. This as not gone unnoticed with the Chinese media unsure of how Lippi will be able to stop Koreas starman. As Sina Sports said on the attacker "Son scored two goals against Everton and one goal against Bournemouth." they then added "Son Heung-Min looks set to play against China on the 16th January and the Chinese national team does not know how to stop the Korean king, Son Heung-Min. It will be really difficult".

The confidence seems low in Lippi's camp with China having failed to win in their two warm-up games leading up to the Asian Cup. This was seen when they lost 2-1 to Iraq on Christmas Eve followed by a 1-1 draw with a poor Jordan side on the 28th December.  A second-half penalty stop from Yan Junling saved defeat to Jordan also.
