Jose Mourinho to China?

At the time of writing it's been less than 24 hours since Jose Mourinho was sacked by Manchester United. The club that only a few years ago was one of the strongest has slipped even further down the elite scale this season with the Portuguese man. Despite his poor season and up and down form in the last few years, as soon as the sacking happened rumours appeared of was the 'Special One' would be next.

Is he off to China?

A destination for Jose Mourinho after his time in Europe could be China. This might make sense on many levels as it will be hard for him to get a big job in Europe again. He will however still be able to demand a high salary in China that he'd not get elsewhere. Meanwhile, he would too be a big name and attract interest so it would be win-win in theory.

The bookies seem to think a move to the CSL could be on too as he is 11/2 to manage that unnamed Chinese club currently. Meanwhile, it is known that Mourinho likes the country and has visited on occasions.

It is hard to know which club he would end up with however if he was to move to China. At a guess, we would go with Shanghai SIPG due to his link to the Chinese city already. Although they currently have one of his fellow countrymen in charge at the moment in Vítor Pereira. Furthermore, his role could be free shortly as he's been linked with the Reading job in England's second tier.
