China's captain optimistic for Asian Cup

China is well into their preparation for the Asian Cup at the start of the year. While confidence remains high among Lippi's men despite their poor form. Then with the tournament kicking off on the 5th January 2019, the side have been preparing in Haikou, a city that is part of the Chinese island province of Hainan.

Country optimistic 

Then last week with the country more than a week into their training camp they led an open training session with the media invited along. This was well attended by the players with all fit players taking part in the open session. There was also smiles all around with the China captain Zheng Zhi suggesting the players are all confident.

As the 38-year-old captain said, “This should be my last time to play in the Asian Cup so I hope we can have some good results that will give me more good memories at the end of my career.”

We will then discover how they do soon when they kick-off in the UAE on the 7th January against Kyrgyzstan.
