Son up against Messi and co

It was the European Champions League this week too and we had an East Asian star up against Messi and co on show. This was, of course, Son Heung-min whos Spurs side took on Barcelona in London.

The Korean, however, played just over an hour with his side losing 4-2 to the Spanish giants.
The player played his part in his team's second goal with an assist for an Eric Lamela goal. He was however then substituted after a below-par performance.

This is not only the opinion here but reported around the UK they talked about Son not performing to his ability last night. It should be noted that this was a poor performance from the whole Tottenham side and none of the players deserves pass marks.

This was against a top European side but what the English side will not be happy with his the chance they gave Barcelona. They allowed them too much time on the ball and made silly mistakes. These errors were not helped by Hugo Lloris in the home goal having a few moments of madness.

Back to the Korean in the media, they talked about the attacker being overtired after the World Cup and Asian Games. In my opinion, this is unfair however as since he's come back he has not looked off the pace before last night.

Although I have to agree along with his whole team Son looked off the pace and weak last night although I would not be worried as a South Korea or Tottenham fan about his fitness. His side now has a chance to bounce straight back this weekend with a home game against winless Cardiff City of Wales in the league. A game I am attending as a Cardiff City fan so I will be giving you an update on the player next week.
