Daegu FC of the K League 1 might have one of South Koreas World Cup stars in Cho Hyun-Woo as their number one but this hasn't helped them much this season.
As up till the middle of August the club based in the south of Korea where sitting bottom of the K League 1 and were staring relegation in the face. However, in the last two weeks, the side have beaten Gangwon 2-0 and Suwon Bluewings 4-2 and have lifted themselves the dizzy heights of ninth in the table.
Then with things looking up on the pitch and positivity back amongst the fans, the club have exciting news off the pitch too. This is down to the fact that the club has started work on a new stadium. Their current ground house's over 66,000 and was built for the 2002 World Cup. Unfortunately, due to the athletics track and their average crowds of around 1,000, this is not ideal.
The hope is then that the club will be at the new ground for the start of the new K League season in March 2019. With it being expected the purpose-built football ground will be completed by December.
