Kenyan international heads to Japan

This week it was announced that Michael Olunga Ogada the Kenyan international was on his way to Japan to join Kashiwa Reysol.

The 24-year-old striker joins from CSL side Guizhou Zhicheng although he spent last season on loan with La Liga side Girona. He is also the first Girona player to score a hat-trick for the side in La Liga (pictured above).

Another fun fact I found out about the J League's new striker was that he once sat an exam instead of going to meet with the former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Back to football, this looks like a great signing for Kashiwa Reysol and one that should excite fans of the J League. As seen in the video below you will notice for a player of 6 ft 3in he has decent skills with the ball at his feet.

While his height is of course an advantage and it will be interesting to see how defenders deal with Kashiwa Reysol crosses into the box with Olunga up top. If you want to look out for him also the striker will wear the number 26 shirt for his new side.
