Brown Ideye to stay in Europe

Nigerian striker Brown Ideye said he would like to remain in Europe despite his loan deal coming to an end in Spain with Malaga.

Ideye joined Malaga on loan from Chinese side Tianjin TEDA but could not help the Spanish club escape relegation from La Liga.

He is now expected to return to China at the end of the La Liga season. However, it would seem that the striker would prefer to stay in Europe.

When asked about coming back to China "I will like to finish my contract there before moving to another club permanently. I know Teda what me back but I don’t want to go back to China, I would prefer to stay in Europe. My agent and I will push for another loan deal, but this time, a better club but that will be after the World Cup.”

This statement isn't a nice read for either his parent club or Malaga but the striker insists the reasons for the move are down to wanting a recall to his national side.

The Nigerian was quoted as saying “Obviously, I got some offers from that region but I am not interested in playing in Qatar on any other team from that region, for now, I just want to focus on doing well on the pitch and playing my way back into the national team.”

It will be interesting to see what happens with Brown Ideye and if he will return to China if even short term.
