World Cup - Kits

It’s that time of year where the World Cup countdown is getting real. The excitement is hitting and it’s time to pick a team to support if your countries not qualified.

While here at From the Tofu Bowl we will be cheering on both Japan and South Korea. Let’s take a look at the football kits of both teams for the World Cup. If you can't pick which team to support maybe then choose the side with the best kit.

As the Japan home kit went down the same route as many of the others with looking at history. As you would expect with Japan, however, they have done this in another direction, so instead of basing the new top on a retro design, they have based it on traditional samurai armour.
Japan's away kit is also lovely and is predominantly light grey. As the 3 Stripes, placed on the shoulders of the Japan away kit, are white giving it a very simple clean look. This kit is also inspired by Adidas kits of the 90s, as the shirt uses a large but subtle 3 stripe graphic on the upper left side, while a red Adidas logo on the right chest rounds off the design nicely.

The South Korea kit has been designed by Nike and features a simple but nice design for their home shirt. The redshirt is without any graphic on the front and instead, it features just a bit of white in the form of the Nike logo on the right chest and the tape at the back collar.

Meanwhile, the away shirt is with a little more character has a bold blue and red graphic print on the front, subtly inspired by a tiger pattern and the Taegeuk symbol also found on the upper back of both South Korea 2018 shits.

Now with both teams kitted out and only World Cup warm-up matches on the way before the action really begins it’s time to pick your side.
