Henan Jianye sack manager

Henan Jianye has parted company with coach Dragan Talajic as the club sit one point of the Chinese Super League relegation zone.

Last week then after another defeat the club released the following statement.

"After cordial discussions between Henan Jianye and Dragan Talajic, the contract between the two parties has been invalidated. We would like to thank Mr Talajic for his efforts and contributions to the club and we will wish him all the best in the future."

Talajic had only been appointed at the end of last season after an eventful career had taken him to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates and Thailand.

Nevertheless, since his appointment, Henan have won just once so far this season and the club is currently in 14th place in the 16-team league with four points from their first seven games.

The Bosnian Talajić will feel disappointed he could not do more as he only managed the one win in China. That win came in a game against Tianjin Teda when his side run out 1-0 winners with the goal from his Spanish signing the former Fulham and Reading striker Orlando Sá.
