Round two of the K League 1

The second week from the K League 1 got to see all games kick off over the weekend this time. In the shock of the weekend, we saw the defending champions Jeonbuk lose in week two of the new season. While K League 1 new boys Gyeongnam FC made it two wins out of two against Jeju United.

Elsewhere Bluewings got their first three points on the board as they look to kick-start their season. While Pohang Steelers made it two out of two also in a thrilling game that ended 3-2 against Jeonnam Dragons.

Last week we made a special mention to Marcão who is playing at new K League side Gyeongnam FC and was their hat-trick hero, this week he was suspended giving other players in the team the chance to shine. That is exactly what they did as the team played well from the off. This time the newcomer's other Brazilian player made the headlines, Negueba as he made it 1-0 after 16 minutes. The goal was a lucky one as he got in between the Jeju defender and goalkeeper and the ball bounced off his leg and into the net.

The new season in the K League 1 now sees three teams on maximum points after two weeks it will now be interesting to see if Jeonbuk Motors will bounce back quickly and reclaimed their position at the top soon or if we have a title race on our hands. Only time will tell which one will be the case but keep the eyes peeled to find out more.
