Round three of the J League

This week throughout Japan we saw many teams may their respects seven years on from the Tōhoku earthquake where thousands of people lost their lives in Japan.

To the football round, three of the J League season took place this weekend and we now have only one team left with a 100% win record. That prize goes to Sanfrecce Hiroshima as they won 1-0 away from home at Kashima Antlers.

We didn't see such a feast of goals this weekend with only one team managing more than two goals as 21 goals were scored throughout the league. The best of the action could be found at the Sapporo Dome as Shimizu S Pulse won 3-1 away against Consadole Sapporo.
Our player of the week goes to Brazilian forward for Shimizu S Pulse Crislan. The forward got himself a goal and assist to help his team to the three points this weekend. His goal wasn't one to live in the memory but he did very well to hold of the defender Shindo off before turning in the six-yard box and firing home. The third was a lovely goal as Chrislan flicked it on to Kawai and the midfielder fired home from 20 yards.

In other games this weekend in Sundays only game we saw a dull 0-0 draw played out as Nagoya Grampus lost their grip on top spot in the game. Kawasaki Frontale did get back to winning ways however as they beat Gamba Osaka 2-0. The defending champions dominated the game and in truth could have won by more.

The defeat from Kawasaki Frontale does now mean that Gamba Osaka sits bottom of the table as the only team without any points on the board yet this season. Overall however after three games, the league is looking to be an exciting one and with a lot of tight games, the race for the title looks like it could be exciting if the first few games and anything to be judged on.
