North Korea’s Han happy to return to Cagliari

Han Kwang-Song said he was relishing the challenges he faces ahead of him on his return to Cagliari. The 19-year-old Han has spent the first part of the season on loan at Serie B side Perugia.

While at Perugia he has excelled scoring seven goals causing some of Europe’s top clubs to show an interest. Arsenal, Tottenham, Napoli and Juventus have all reportedly shown a keen interest in signing Han in various media outlets.

Han was in a thankful mood recently as he thanked Perugia for allowing him to grow up and thanked his parent club Cagliari and their chairman for believing in him by stating, “He is living the dream” and everyone in Cagliari loves him, and it feels like home”. Cagliari has since given him a contract extension until 2022 while slapping a €20 million valuation on one of Europe’s current hottest prospects.

His nationality, however, may well prove to be a stumbling block for teams interested, although it might not be such a problem for Italian sides as he is already playing in Italy.

However, Fiorentina did withdraw from signing North Korean Choe Song-hyok on a professional contract in the summer, allowing their former youth player to move to AC Perugia. How this will pan out is going to be interesting to see and we shall see which ‘big club’ will be first to make an attempt to sign him as could be problematic for most.
