Brentford’s Lasse Vibe moves to China

Brentford fan favourite Lasse Vibe has signed for Chinese Super League side Changchun Yatai. He will partner ex Watford striker Odion Ighalo up front in their up-and-coming league season.

30 year old Vibe had six months left on his contract at Brentford and it was looking very unlikely that he would be signing a new deal at Griffin Park. Vibe was well liked and a key player at Brentford, he looked set to leave on a free transfer at the end of the current season. That was until Changchun Yatai offered £2 million for his services.

Brentford doubled their money on a player they looked like losing for free, signed from IFK Goteborg for £1 million, Vibe leaves Brentford with a lot of good will from Brentford fans and some have even stated they’ll be following how he does in China from afar. Even though he will leave a big hole in their current attacking options, it just goes to show how well liked Lasse Vibe is at Brentford that most of their fans are wishing him well, and hoping he still succeeds in his career after leaving them on their forums.

Vibe is known for his football intelligence and clever movement which helps him get the goals he does. He’s also an extremely hard worker, and clearly has the right attitude to succeed wherever he goes and we think he is going to do very well in China with Changchun Yatai.
